About the Soldano™ 412 Super Lead Overdrive
Closed-Back · 100W · 4× Celestion™ G12M-70

The Soldano™ Super Lead Overdrive series is one of the foundational American boutique high-gain platforms — designed by Mike Soldano and the basis for the SLO-100 amplifier head, a benchmark high-gain reference since its introduction in the late 1980s. The platform set the template that countless subsequent American boutique amp builders would follow.

The 412 Super Lead Overdrive cabinet is the matched 4×12 closed-back enclosure for that platform — built to handle the SLO-100's 100-watt output and engineered for the tight, focused low-end response the platform's high-gain voicing demands.

Inside are Celestion™ G12M-70 (16Ω) 12-inch drivers — the higher power-handling variant of the Greenback family, rated at 70 watts to handle the 100-watt amplifier output without speaker stress. The G12M-70 carries the mid-forward voicing of the Greenback line into a contemporary power-handling envelope, which is the reason it ended up at the centre of so many 1990s American boutique amplifier voicings.

A reference capture for American boutique high-gain tone of its era. The closed-back 4×12's controlled low-end and the G12M-70's mid-forward voice produce the sound at the heart of 1990s American boutique rock and metal — articulate, sustaining, harmonically rich. Across sustained lead lines especially, the cabinet does not flatten into the rhythm bed but thrusts upward, holding the lead note at its own height.
