The 412 BOGN-B V30 captures a BOGNER™ 4×12 cabinet — the straight (B-type), closed-back build, put together from rugged birch plywood. For a 4×12 it lands with unusual weight: thicker at the core than a Marshall straight (B) cab, with real mass behind every note. The low end stays tight and unwavering, and the foundation holds together even when pushed — so riffs keep their outline at high gain. Nothing about it is flashy; the quality of the materials and the build simply comes through in the sound. It's the straight cab players keep coming back to.
It's loaded with the original Celestion™ Vintage 30 — the ceramic-magnet speaker, here in early British-made examples. Introduced in 1986 for the Marshall Studio 15 combo, the Vintage 30 was designed to recreate the character of the 1960s alnico speakers (like the Celestion Blue) with a more manageable ceramic magnet. It balances a chewy upper-mid with a tight low end for a dense, focused tone.
The capture is routed through a Neve™ VR console module, the input channel from one of the most consequential large-format consoles of the modern studio era. The Neve VR adds the colour that has defined British studio recording for decades: a deep, weighted low-end, a smooth and harmonically rich midrange, and a top end that opens up without turning brittle. The API 512c version of the same cabinet sits alongside it as the brighter, more forward-projecting alternative.
