The Marshall™ 1960A is the slant-front variant of Marshall's iconic 4×12 stack cabinet — the angled-baffle "A" version, designed to sit on top of a 1960B straight cabinet. The "JCM800 LEAD SERIES" designation marks the 1980s production era.
This cabinet is loaded with Electro-Voice™ EVM12L Black Label 12-inch drivers — the high-output American speaker most strongly associated with Zakk Wylde of Black Label Society, who has used EVM12L-loaded 4×12 cabinets throughout his career and lends his name to this signature variant.
The EVM12L is a high-power, ceramic-magnet driver with a tight, articulate response and considerably greater power handling than typical Celestion alternatives — a configuration that suits high-gain rhythm work and sustained lead tones equally.
A specialised capture documenting an unusual but commercially-recognised speaker swap. Across the same JCM800 silhouette on which the British Marshall canon was built, the EVM12L's focused midrange and high-headroom voice refuse to fold or compress under heavy gain. The cabinet rings every riff all the way out.
