The "1982A" designation refers to the angled top cab: the slant-baffle upper section that pairs with a straight-front 1982B below to complete the iconic full-stack silhouette.

Hendrix's relationship with Marshall is the stuff of rock legend. His late-1960s rigs — 100-watt heads driving full stacks — helped define the sound of psychedelic rock and shaped guitar tone for the decades that followed.
