About the Marshall™ 1982A HENDLX · X-Pattern Combination
4×12 Slant · Hendrix Limited Edition · G12T-75 + V30 X-Pattern · 48 Mix IRs

The Marshall™ 1982A Hendrix Limited Edition is the angled top section of the iconic Marshall full-stack — paired with a straight-front 1982B below, it forms the silhouette that became the visual shorthand for high-output rock amplification. This particular run was issued by Marshall as a tribute to Jimi Hendrix.

This capture takes a different angle on the cabinet than the single-driver versions in the same series. Inside the 1982A, the X-Pattern configuration combines two Celestion drivers that pull tonally in opposite directions: the Celestion™ G12T-75 (75-watt ceramic) and the Celestion™ Vintage 30 (60-watt ceramic). Together their nominal handling places this 4×12 well above the working range of any modern guitar head.

The G12T-75 is the workhorse of modern Marshall production cabinets: tight low end, focused upper-mid push, and a high-headroom voice that carries straight into contemporary high-gain territory. The Vintage 30 is the flagship boutique driver — a pronounced 3kHz peak, compressed midrange, the voice that has defined Mesa Boogie, PRS, and a long line of high-end builds for forty years. Putting these two languages in the same cabinet, both at full power, is unusual: most X-Patterns blend speakers from the same tonal family.

Single-mic IRs are not included in this product. Every capture uses cross-placement that engages both speaker types simultaneously, fixed at a 50/50 V30/T75 blend, and the angled baffle of the 1982A is preserved across the entire set. The result is 48 mix IRs that hold the X-Pattern interaction at the capture stage. Across every position, the V30's 3kHz bite and the T75's modern bottom-end push counterweight each other — not folded into a single voice, but kept in tension on the same baffle.
