This IR data was created from the pairing of a Marshall™ 1960B Salt and Pepper cabinet and Celestion™ "Pre-Rola" G12M20 Greenback speakers. This is a wholly separate product with entirely different content from the standard TacoSounds 412 MARS 1960B SaltPepper — newly recorded as part of the British Series.
The legendary Salt and Pepper Marshall cabinets from the late 1960s to early 1970s are still highly sought after for their distinctive grille cloth and sonic character. Combined with the extremely rare Pre-Rola Greenback speakers, this setup represents one of the most coveted vintage speaker configurations in rock history.
The Pre-Rola G12M20 Greenback speakers — built before Celestion's acquisition by Rola in 1967 — are considered the holy grail of vintage guitar speakers. Their unique construction and materials deliver an unmatched combination of warmth, clarity, and midrange presence that defined the classic-rock sound of that era.
Captured with one carefully chosen position per microphone for realistic, detailed IR data, using a curated selection of high-quality vintage and modern microphones (including the rare MD421 White and a U47 FET on off-axis duty). The Salt and Pepper Marshall frame and the Pre-Rola Greenback voice — the era arrives here, the holy grail of vintage British tone crystallising into a single IR.
