This IR data is the Extended version, re-made as part of TacoSounds' British Series. Captured from the same closed-back HIWATT™ SE4123 cabinet and 1994 all-original Wharfedale speakers (Audio Brothers era) as the original 412 HWTT FANE — with revisited microphone positioning and capture chain for a different sonic flavor.
HIWATT amps are known for high headroom and crystal-clear tone. The 1994 Audio Brothers-era closed-back SE4123 paired with original Wharfedale 12-inch drivers (S/N 1221760, dated June 23, 1994) delivers tight low end and a present midrange character.
The product name "FANE" reflects the name used at registration, while the actually loaded speakers are Wharfedale. Both brands share the British speaker-making tradition rooted in Yorkshire, and 1994 — the year of this particular cabinet — corresponds to a transitional period for Fane Loudspeakers, suggesting that HIWATT may have adopted same-region Wharfedale drivers during this window. The sound data itself remains unchanged.
Captured with one carefully selected position per microphone — for realistic, detailed IR data. While preserving the sonic terrain of the original FANE, the revisited mic-ing and capture chain step into another facet of the SE4123 cabinet and the Wharfedale pair.
