The VOX™ AC30 is one of the foundational British guitar amplifiers — first produced in 1959, the platform behind the chiming clean and edge-of-breakup tones of the British Invasion. The "6TB-X" designation is the "Top Boost" extended variant, the most-recorded AC30 specification.
The AC30 runs a Class-A output stage with EL84 power tubes — a circuit topology that produces a softer, more sweetly compressed overdrive than the Class-AB designs typical of American amps. This is the source of the AC30's signature top-end "chime" and natural musical compression.
The IR is taken from the combo's native 2×12 cabinet with VOX™ Alnico Blue speakers — Celestion-built alnico-magnet 12-inch drivers associated with the AC30 since its earliest production years. The Alnico Blue's response is celebrated for the way it compresses naturally as it is pushed, producing the singing sustain that has carried countless British rock recordings from The Beatles forward into the canon.
A reference capture for the warmest end of the AC30 lineage. The Greenback-loaded green capture sits alongside this one as the more focused alternative. The Alnico Blue version carries the harmonics open. The amp pushes, the Alnico breathes, and the sustained note that defined British rock — the cabinet sings it onward.
