About the JMI™ 30/6 · 2×12 Vintage British Cabinet
Open-Back · JMI Made-in-England Blue 12"

The JMI™ 30/6 is a vintage 2×12 cabinet manufactured by Jennings Musical Industries — the British company that originally produced VOX amplifiers in the 1950s and 1960s.

JMI cabinets share a tonal lineage with the early VOX AC30 and AC15 — open-back British construction, traditional cabinet-making methods, and a focus on the chiming top-end and naturally compressed midrange that defined the British Invasion guitar sound.

This cabinet is loaded with original JMI Made-in-England Blue 12-inch speakers — vintage British drivers from the same era and production lineage as the cabinet itself, now extremely difficult to source in matched pairs and working condition.

A reference capture of vintage British guitar tone — recorded by selecting only the single best-sounding position for each microphone, rather than offering rows of distance and angle variations. Paired with your IR-compatible amp simulator or plug-in, the JMI cabinet's chiming top end and naturally compressed midrange respond to your picking dynamics — moving freely between clean, edge-of-breakup, and lightly overdriven territory right under your fingertips.
