The Fender™ Vibroverb is one of the rarest amps in the Black Face Fender lineup — produced briefly between 1963 and 1964, notable for its unusual 15-inch speaker configuration in a combo format.
This particular setup pairs the Vibroverb with a JBL™ E130-8 ceramic 15" speaker — a combination that yields a fuller low-mid response and an aggressive midrange character. The Vibroverb's brief production run and distinctive 15-inch format have kept it among the most sought-after Blackface-era Fender combos.
The 15-inch driver gives the amp a fuller low-mid response than the more common 12" Fender combos, while the JBL ceramic's tight bass and aggressive midrange handle high-output single-coils and overdriven gain stages without the cone breakup smaller speakers exhibit.
This capture preserves the open-back cabinet's natural ambience and the JBL's focused, percussive transient response. Paired with a tube amplifier, the cabinet voice meets the amp's tube-driven harmonic content — and the foundational reference for Texas blues and high-headroom American clean tones comes into view.
