The Marshall™ 1960A is the slant version of the iconic 4×12" cabinet. The "A" designates the slant-front configuration — its angled top sits atop a straight 1960B, forming the legendary "Marshall stack" that defined the look and sound of rock guitar.
Since the 1960s, this cabinet has powered the rigs of countless rock legends — Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, and the wave of arena-rock guitarists that followed. The slant front projects high frequencies directly at the audience, giving the player presence and cut on stage.
This particular cabinet is from the early 1970s with the rare Large Check Grill Cloth (the bigger, bolder checker pattern) — a sought-after collector spec from the era.
Inside are four Celestion™ "ROLA" G12M25 Blackback speakers. "Blackback" refers to the black-colored magnet cover (vs the green "Greenback" variant). "ROLA" is the prized 1970s production era — these speakers are known for tight, focused midrange and a slightly heavier low-end than the Greenback, making them ideal for classic rock rhythm tones.
